Looking for an Ultra-Compact Camera November 22, 2009

I’ve been taking way too many photos with my iPhone. Even though the image quality is downright horrible, the reason I end up taking pictures with it is because it’s always with me. The DSLR along with the heavy lenses sits at home, unused for months at a time. So, I think the answer is an ultra compact Camera. Initially, I thought a Canon G series camera would be nice. But, that camera isn’t exactly pocket friendly either. A Leica would be great but I can’t justify the price. Checked out a couple of Panasonic cameras (with Leica lenses) too. So, now it’s down to the Canon PowerShot SD780IS or the SD940IS.

I have a great DSLR camera but I seem to take more pictures with my iPhone because it’s always with me.

I would like to get a small (as small as possible!) digital camera so I can always keep it with me to take pictures.

For a brief moment, I thought about getting the Canon G9 (which is a fantastic DSLR alternative) but it is way too big for my needs. If possible, I would like to get something smaller than the Canon ELPH or SD series.

Do you have a recommendation for such a digital camera? A friend recommended the Casio Exilim series but before getting one, I thought I would post the question on here.
