Spent 6 hours in class today. Wrote three essays in class. Issue-spotted another three. Took the rest of the day off to catch up on sleep.

Ended up focusing on the Contracts and UCC outline. Wanted to have it all memorized but am not there yet. Still, I have some “pre-writing” down for basic contract issues. Although I studied for the better part of the day, I don’t think I got more than 4 solid hours worth of work.

Calling it an early night. Sleep deprived for two days in a row. Have an exam tomorrow at 9 AM.

Today (technically yesterday) wasn’t too bad. Woke up @ around 8:30 AM because hadn’t gone to bed until 3:30 AM the night before. No, I was not really studying after 1 AM. The last 2.5 hours were spent waiting for the caffeine in my system to be metabolized.

Tried something new today. Instead of passively listening to audio lectures for the hour long commute to class, I read out flash cards and discussed the law and hypothetical situations around it with my carpool buddy who was driving. We went through the first 20 Contracts flash cards in about 45 minutes and both of us found it helpful.

At class, there was a half-hour introduction to Performance Tests. Then we wrote one under exam conditions (3 hours). This was followed by a half hour dissection of what we should have done on the exam. We get our graded work back next week.

On the way back, we did another 15 or so cards. Then at school, I did the last 20 or so cards on Contracts and UCC.

Then, I went through the “dissection” of the Contracts MBEs that I had gotten wrong earlier. For each question I got wrong, I wrote down the Theme (e.g. Contract Formation), Concept (e.g. Unilateral Offers) and why I got the answer wrong (e.g. “Didn’t realize that although the Contract was not formed yet, offeror’s power of acceptance was revoked when offeree began performance” or worse, “didn’t read the question carefully enough”). There were quite a few questions to go through and the process (even though painfully “low-tech”) seemed to be working. My score on the next 10 questions was 80% — a vast improvement from the 50% on the first 28 questions.

Summary for today: Didn’t issue spot any essays today but 1) took one PT in class 2) did 10 MBEs 3) went through ~50 Contracts/UCC flash cards and 4) dissected 28 MBEs and reviewed the concepts/themes I had missed.

Goals for Tomorrow: 1) Dissect Torts MBEs 2) Prepare for simulated exam (on K/UCC/Torts) on Saturday 3) Issue Spot at least 2 Essays and 4) Do 20 MBEs.
