Posted by atharkhan in : Chicago, Personal, Review , trackbackToday is a sad, sad day. For over 12 years, I was convinced that the Chicago Chop House served the best steak known to human tastebuds. I have tried Ruth’s, Morton’s and just about every big name place I could think of and nothing trumped the Chop House. Until today. I had the filet at The Capital Grille in Chicago about 10 hours ago and I am still “high” from the experience. The Sauteed Mushrooms were also incredibly good. Now, I always thought that mushrooms were mushrooms — a mere distraction. A colleague claimed the mushrooms at TCG are “so good that they make mushrooms at other places look like fungus.” Bold statement…but true. So, from now on, when I get into my carnivore mode and want the perfect steak, I will head to TCG instead of the Chop House.
