The Capital Grille (Chicago) June 26, 2007

Today is a sad, sad day. For over 12 years, I was convinced that the Chicago Chop House served the best steak known to human tastebuds. I have tried Ruth’s, Morton’s and just about every big name place I could think of and nothing trumped the Chop House. Until today. I had the filet at The Capital Grille in Chicago about 10 hours ago and I am still “high” from the experience. The Sauteed Mushrooms were also incredibly good. Now, I always thought that mushrooms were mushrooms — a mere distraction. A colleague claimed the mushrooms at TCG are “so good that they make mushrooms at other places look like fungus.” Bold statement…but true. So, from now on, when I get into my carnivore mode and want the perfect steak, I will head to TCG instead of the Chop House.

A friend (Aun) introduced me to Geni (www.geni.com) a few months ago. I didn’t really think much of it at the time but now that I am playing around with it, Geni is a great site! It is everything that MyFamily.com and Ancestry.com weren’t. Geni is a web 2.0 site. It is fast/responsive, incredibly easy to use and free. At first glance, Geni’s interface (like Google’s) seems simple but the more you explore, the more you discover. If you have ever thought about using a website to stay in touch with your family, you have to try Geni.

If anyone is part of the Trillian Astra (www.trillianastra.com) Beta Program, can they tell me how T/A stacks up against Meebo.com?
