Yes, I *KNOW* about “10mph” — the Segway Movie! May 30, 2007
Posted by atharkhan in : Personal , add a commentIt’s only 10 AM on the West Coast and already 3 friends have emailed me a link to the documentary “10mph” (www.10mph.com) which is about a couple of guys who quit their job to go from Boston to Seattle on their Segways.
This is my friends’ way of ridiculing my impulsive purchase of a Segway almost 2 years ago when I passed my first year of law school. Since then, anything about the Segway — including Weird Al’s “White & Nerdy” to a Product Recall notice finds its way into my email inbox.
While I am on the topic, let me just concede that a Segway is about the most impractical purchase one could make. However, as “goofy looking” as it may be, it is still a fun toy and great icebreaker. There hasn’t been a single time when I went out on my Segway and someone didn’t approach me to bum a free ride. So there!
Walking the Neighborhood May 28, 2007
Posted by atharkhan in : Personal , 1 comment so farMoved into my own place today right off Division street. It’s smack in the middle of Cabrini Green which has changed quite a bit in the 7 years that I have been away from Chicago. After moving in, I decided to walk the neighborhood to get my bearings. So, I went down to Wells and up through Old Town. Had lunch at Old Jerusalem. It was a surreal experience to be back at one of my favorite places after all these years. On the way home, I stopped (okay ate!) at Sammy’s Red Hots. Where else can you get greasy fries, a Chicago dog with everything and a diet coke for two bucks? Good times!
So… all in all, a beautiful Chicago day with awesome Chicago food. Ahhh… life is good
In Chicago May 27, 2007
Posted by atharkhan in : Personal , add a commentIt’s great to be back in Chicago!
Whenever I visit this city, I go through a list of (mostly junk food) places to eat and visit each time. Now that I am here for a few months, I will be sure to go through it and perhaps revise and refine it a little.
Do you have an idea/suggestion for what to do in Chicago? If so, please do leave a comment.
