Patent Bar Prep - Day 21 January 10, 2007
Posted by atharkhan in : Patent Bar Prep , add a commentI havent posted since Sunday because I havent done work worthy enouhgh of a blog post. Today, I finally resumed working on questions and finished Chapter 4. Got up to Chapter 5, Q29.
I have about 19 more Chapters to go. I couldn’t study at all yesterday because now that school is in session, I have less time than before. Especially because being in class from 6PM to 10 PM takes up the entire evening. My sleep cycle is still out of whack from the winter break because I was staying up late doing this patent bar stuff. So, as a result I have been a zombie during my late (8PM) classes. I don’t have school tomorrow night so I am going to try and catch up on the patent bar stuff and will possibly enlist a friend to babysit me… which essentially means he will sit in the same room as me, do his own thing (study for the bar) and project guilt at me every time my mouse begins to wander off to some pointless website (today, it was the iPhone… who knows what it will be tomorrow.)
Anyway, my concentration is shot right now and I can’t seem to even finish reading questions or answers. You know you’re tired when you cant force yourself to read an entire sentence even if you try.
So, inspite of the redbull, diet soda and coffee running through my system, I will try and get some (poor quality) sleep.
Tomorrow is a new day. Right?
Patent Bar Prep - Day 20 January 8, 2007
Posted by atharkhan in : Patent Bar Prep , add a commentFinished videos on Plant Patents in Chapter 23. Then, got through the videos for Chapter 26 (Patent Cooperation Treaty), Chapter 25 (Ethics, Inequitable Conduct & Fraud in Patent Prosecution), Chapter 17 (Patent Term Duration) and Chapter 27 (102(e) Prior Art with US/PCT Applications).
I had expected PCT and Advanced 102(e) to be tricky concepts but they weren’t as bad as I thought they would be. The one that surprised me was Patent Term Duration. Man, that stuff can get complex pretty quickly!
The good news is that I am done with all the videos and have gone through the big fat binder with all the lecture charts once. I can’t even begin to estimate how much of this I will actually retain but it feels good to know that I got done with it. It was a good introduction to all the topics.
The bad (and severely annoying) news is that I was supposed to be done with both the lecture videos and the practice questions. And, with school starting tomo… I mean today, it will be difficult to find time to do the practice questions other than a few hours per week. This will be “interesting” to say the least.
Anyway, I am done for the day. Seacrest… out!
Patent Bar Prep - Day 19 January 7, 2007
Posted by atharkhan in : Patent Bar Prep , add a commentGot back to Irvine around 7 PM and viewed lecture videos for about 5 hours straight. Got through Chapter 18 (Introduction to Petitions & Appeals), Chapter 22 (Correction of Patents) and Chapter 24 (Interference Practice). I also got through the section on Design Patents in Chapter 23 (Design & Plant Patents) and will pick up tomorrow at Chapter 26, Chart 10 (Video 20, Chart 10).
Tomorrow is the last day of the Winter “Break.” I have 4.5 Chapters (i.e. 3 whole videos) to get through in one day. After that, I have to pick up where I left off with the practice questions.
I am taking 11 units of classes this semester (Corporations, UCC and Wills & Trusts) and the assignments for them have already been posted. I am irritated that I didn’t get through this faster. I know that this entire prep could have been done along with questions in 3 weeks. It could have been! Urghhh!
