Networking with Macs September 18, 2006
Posted by atharkhan in : Tech , trackbackIs it just me or was Networking an afterthought with Macs? Seems like the process of finding a network share, mapping it and even using it seems pretty cumbersome. Also, when accessing a NAS device (such as a Maxtor) it seems like the Mac takes longer to list files and start streaming videos.
Could just be my network. Could be an unfair test. Either way, the delay on the Mac is irritating! I am using a Dell D610 PC and a MacBook. Both have 1 GB of RAM and 54G Wireless Network Cards. I wonder if its just some setting (on the Mac) that I don’t know about.
Any ideas? Â
